LONDON - Three third-period goals propelled the Cherrey Bus Lines Minor Bantams to a 4-2 victory over the London Bandits here last Friday.
Cody Gosselin and Blake Pickering both had one goal and an assist to pace the Warriors attack.
Mark Schmidt with a quick shot to the top shelf and Ethan Adair, burying the game winner, rounded out the Stratford scoring. Joe Gioia picked up two assists.
Jack Bryan played well in net, stopping two breakaways and a number of other quality scoring opportunities.
• The Perth Auto Dismantlers Major Atoms lost 3-1 on Thursday, Jan. 21 to London Jr. Knights. Joe Yundt scored the lone Stratford goal, with Nolan Caverley-Grasby drawing the assist.
Last Saturday, Stratford tied Waterloo Wolves 3-3 with Nathan Hall, Tanner Johnson and Isaiah Duiker scoring the goals, and Clayton Lewis and goalie Justin Hergott earning the assists.
• The Holloway Automotive Minor Atom Warriors travelled to Woodstock on Monday, Jan. 25 to play the first place and undefeated Navy Vets.
Warriors found themselves trailing 2-0 late in the third period, but goals by Liam Taylor and Sam Davey gave Stratford a well-earned 2-2 tie.
Assisting on the goals were Dean Jackson with two and Brett Stelmachuk with one.
Tyler Parr was excellent in net. Warriors have shown that through their hard work they can compete with the top teams heading into the Alliance playoffs.
• In Peewee girls house league action this past Sunday, LAF’s Photography defeated Hishons 5-2.
Sami Eaton was strong in net for LAF’s with Erin Ingoldsby, Maddie Daum, Megan Biasin, Emily Ayenew and Sophia Ayenew scoring in the win. Kaitlinn Shaw and Mallory Petrie replied for Hishons.
